Avance Media has unveiled its annual list of 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians. This is its fifth year and the annual ranking has helped highlight the works of some notable Nigerians. Past winners have included Funke Akindele (2016), Victor Moses (2017), and Davido (2018).
Prince Akpah, the founder and MD of Avance Media explains that the purpose of the list is to encourage young Nigerians to build a brand for themselves. He says “the list serves as an encouragement to young Nigerians who are accomplished in their industries and continue to build a distinguished brand for themselves and influence over others. This list also urges those honored to continue striving harder so their stories can inspire other young people to also contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria and the continent of Africa.”
The list recognizes inspiring young change-makers and leaders who are making great strides in the environment. The honorees cut across diverse sectors such as entrepreneurs, musicians, activists, media personalities, social entrepreneurs, public servants and politicians. This year, Avance media selected our very own Onyeka Akumah.
Onyeka Akumah is the founder and CEO of Farmcrowdy who runs the company with a team of zealous people working together to empower farmers together. In the past three years, Farmcrowdy has grown from an idea on paper to impacting rural farmers in Nigeria.
