Farmcrowdy headquarters is bustling with excitement and that’s because we have a string of announcements to make this week.
After months of hard work, collaboration and testing, we are excited to announce the launch of the new Farmcrowdy website. Our shiny new website is now LIVE on the same URL: https://www.farmcrowdy.com/
We keep a huge spreadsheet of feedback that we have received from everyone who has interacted with our platform since we launched and that was where we started our revamp.
Whether you are accessing our site from desktop or mobile, the new site will provide you with an elevated experience.
We have kept some of the elements from our old site such as colour and ambience so if you think the old website was cool, think of this new site as a cooler, improved version!
We have also changed our font type and size so our content is easier to read (see our Assets Library Page), accompanied by clear descriptions of each page. Our FAQ page includes more detailed answers to your questions and if you can’t seem to find what you are looking for, you can now call our helpline directly from the top navigation bar.
User experience was a focal part of this redesign, because it is very important to us that new and repeat visitors can easily find what they are looking for, get inspired and join us in this journey of empowering farmers and achieving global food security.
New and Improved Features (with Screenshots)
Here are some of the new and improved features that you will notice on the site:
All New Dashboard
Probably our most favourite part of the redesign is the dashboard. We are incredibly proud of our farm sponsors and want them to see at a glance how many farms they have sponsored which also shows how many farmers they have empowered over the months or years.
This new dashboard has a cleaner user interface design and clearer elements.
You can easily view your “Sponsorship History” on sign in and move from one tab to the next with the click of a button.
You can also invite friends via social media or email to sponsor farms within your dashboard.
Easier Sign up/Log in with more social options
If you find it easier to sign up or log in with your social accounts when accessing the Farmcrowdy website, you will absolutely love this feature.
On the previous Farmcrowdy site, you could only sign up/in with email and Facebook, but we’ve added two other social options: Gmail and Linkedin.
New Farmshop Experience
Now you can filter the Farms on the Farmshop into categories to make your search easier.
The sort options provided include:
More Payment Options for Local and International Sponsorships
We have gotten a lot of requests for paying via Bank and international payments, and we are happy to let you know that you can now sponsor a farm from anywhere in the world whether you have a Nigerian account or not!
The payment process is now integrated on our site so you will no longer be redirected out of the site to make payment. Please note that we do not store any of your bank details.
There are four (4) options to pay:
> Via Card: Pay online with your debit or credit card issued from anywhere in the world
> GTB 737: Use the *737# shortcode generated to complete your transaction
> Visa QR: Scan the QR code in your Ecobank, First bank, Fidelity, Access, Diamond or Zenith bank mobile app
> PayPal Transactions: You will be redirected to the secure Paypal website to checkout
We have launched Poultry farms twice this year and our first Cattle Fattening Project. We are rounding off the first quarter of the year with a new farm type!
Say hello to Ginger Farms.
New Sponsorship Options
We are committed to enabling everyone participate in this agriculture revolution and empowering rural farmers by making sponsorship on our platform easy and accessible, which is why we have lowered the barrier for entry by reducing the cost of sponsorship for our farms.
In the same vein, and for the first time ever, we will be opening different sponsorship options to suit the different types of farm sponsors on our platform. Details coming soon.
As a result of our new setup, all farm transactions will require a 2% transaction fee. This transaction fee covers payment gateway cost, cost of funds disbursement to the farmers and cost of paying back through the banks to our sponsors.
Here is a video from our Founder and CEO, Onyeka Akumah announcing the launch of the new website and explaining the transaction cost in detail:
We get a lot of media mentions, award nominations and sometimes send out press releases. We also receive a lot of requests for our pictures, and brand materials which is why we have created Resource Pages to house all our brand assets.
We appreciate all the mentions and want to be properly represented. Please visit our Media & Awards Page to get access to our media features and awards; and Asset library for all brand assets including colour code, logo, icon, and more.
We hope you find this new update refreshing 🙂
