Startups best suited for Techstars Atlanta include those building technology driven businesses, software companies, blockchain technology, cybersecurity, digital native B2C businesses and basically business that preferably have worldwide reach and not just local (fitted to one country) appeal.
Ideally, your startup should have a minimum viable product (MVP), some form of traction, whether in form of revenue, users, and or previous investment; anything to prove a track record increases your chances of getting funded with Techstars or any other funding partners.
Upon acceptance to Techstars Accelerator Program, every company will be required to spend three months in Atlanta. For companies outside the USA, Techstars will help with Visa application and any immigration issues. Techstars will also provide conducive working spaces, lounge, and reliable internet.
In this three-month period, founders will have access to numerous networking, learning and opportunities to hone their business ideas. Frankly, if this was all you got from the program, it will be more than enough. But that’s not all.
Each selected startup will also receive:
- $120,000 investment from Techstars
- Lifetime access to Techstars worldwide network of entrepreneurs including thousands of mentors, investors, alumnis, and staff members
- Resources worth $1,000,000
- Demo day event: an opportunity to present your startup before thousands of investors who will potentially invest in your business.

As the first recipient of Techstars Atlanta Accelerator Program funding in Africa, we will be hosting a ‘Ask Me Anything’ session in our office on the 13th of March, 2018. You will receive an email from Techstars if your startup as been chosen to attend this session so we encourage you to submit your application well in advance.
