There is a lot to look forward to in 2018; from expanding to more states in Nigeria, to working with more than 4000 farmers, and promoting digital agriculture through our mobile app, we have so much lined up for the year.
And we are already off to a great start! To help us reach the goals we have set for the year, we applied for the second round of the GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator Fund, alongside several startups from different countries.
After months of waiting, we finally received confirmation that we are one of the recipients of the $325,000 GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator Fund. You can read more about the announcement on the GSMA blog.
The GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator Fund focuses on bridging the gap between mobile operators and start-ups, enabling strong partnerships that foster the growth of innovative mobile products and services. These partnerships bring impactful mobile solutions to the people and places that need them most, generating the greatest socio-economic impact. In particular, the programme operates an Innovation Fund which supports start-ups from Africa and Asia-Pacific with direct grant funding, technical assistance, and connections with mobile operators.
More than ever, we are reminded of how we started this journey of empowering rural farmers and how far we have come. We want to use this opportunity to thank the GSMA team for believing in our vision of using technology to positively impact the agricultural sector. To our investors, farmers, farm sponsors, and farm followers, thank you for supporting us.
The Farmcrowdy team is so excited about this announcement and already look forward to making more progress in 2018.
